Las Vegas Review-JournalCOLUMN: Al Gibes, The Online Guy
Surfers stay up late at cybercafe
Time to open the reader mailbag -- or e-mail box -- with news from cyberspace and a call to fellow surfers for help in this edition of Net Notes.
I get plenty of messages from people planning their Las Vegas vacation looking for places with public Internet access. One spot that I have neglected to point folks to is the Cyber Stop Internet Cafe, 3743 Las Vegas Blvd., South, No. 112B, as owner Jason Moskoske reminded in a recent message.
The Strip's only full-service Internet cafe has been open about six months, and business is good at the high-tech haven across from the Boardwalk. The cafe's Web site (www.cyberstopinc.com) details the menu of services and pricing, which start at $8 per half hour and $12 for a full hour of Internet time.
Regulars can get a membership for $20 per month, reducing the half hour rate to $5.50 and the hour rate to $8.50. Cyber Stop also offers printing, photocopying, scanning, cellular phone rental, long-distance telephone and fax service.
Moskoske plans to open a second location near Treasure Island by the end of May. Hours at the current location are 7 a.m. to 1 a.m., but he admits they have stayed open as late as 3 a.m. when customers were still surfing past closing time.
